Family & Friends CPR

This course is suitable for you and your entire family; parents, children (ages 12 years and above), domestic workers, au pairs, grandparents, and friends.

Course Description

This course gives you the skills on how to manage situations requiring CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) in adults, children, and infants as well as choking emergencies.

An introduction to the AED (Automated External Defibrillator) as well as the correct steps to take when making an emergency call.

Course Syllabus

This course is recognised internationally and includes the following objectives and is in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Resuscitation Council of South Africa and the American Heart Association® Guidelines.

  • Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
  • Heart Attacks
  • Choking: Conscious and Unconscious
  • Adult, Child, and Infant rescue breathing
  • Hands-Only CPR
  • Adult, Child, Infant AED
CPR. Anytime, anywhere!

Learning Resources

Each student will be provided with a workbook to review and keep for future reference.

Testing And Certification

There is no testing phase.

Once complete, participants receive an attendance card from the Resuscitation Council of South Africa.

Discovery members will earn 1000 Discovery miles.

It is recommended that you redo the course every 1-2years.

The duration of the course is 3 hours.
