It has been just over a year since Hatzolah launched the Hatzolah Medical Equipment Gemach,
incorporating the gemachpreviously runby the lateRobert Kropman.
Since thenwe have absorbed the gemach run by the Union of JewishWomen, who very generously donated
all of their equipment to theHatzolahGemach.
The gemach (or free loan society) has fulfilled a vital service to the community.We have loaned out over 300
units, the majority of which are wheelchairs (64%), followed by walkers (15%), commodes (7%) and the
restmade upof crutches, bathor shower seats andmoonboots.
Providing this free service fits perfectly within the Hatzolah mission of combining chesed and a medical
service to the community. It is with this in mind that we limit the loan period to a maximum of 6 weeks,
therefore enabling asmanymembers of the community as possible tobenefit fromthe gemach.
The gemach currently stocks wheelchairs, walkers with or without wheels, commodes, bath seats, shower
seats, moonboots and other items. To enquire about the short termloan of any of these items all youneed to
do is call 0860004666 andwewill assist.
All we ask is that you return the item in time, to allowus to clean and service the itembefore lending it out to
the next person.
